Hurray for my first little made-up pattern!

I've been knitting for a few years now. Here's my first ever pattern. Not very tricky, but maybe somebody else will think it's sweet and want to copy.
Basketweave Baby Washcloth

Knit on size 8 needles using worsted weight cotton

(The example in the picture was knit in "Peaches & Creme" 100% cotton, color: Ecru)


Cast on 28.

Knit 4 rows.

Row 5: *Knit 4, purl 4 (repeat from * until last 4 stitches), knit 4

Row 6: Knit 8, purl 4, knit 4, purl 4, knit 8

Row 7: repeat row 5

Row 8: repeat row 6

Row 9: repeat row 5

Repeat rows 5-9 six more times.

Knit 4 rows.

Bind off.
